What does it mean?

In ballet, the term "pas" is used quite frequently. It means step. This is our "step of promise" so young, talented dancers are able to take a step forward in their dancing careers.

 

Mission Statement: 

At Pas de Promise we believe in equality. We believe that everyone should have an equal shot at having their passion recognized. Unfortunately, being passionate in dance is  expensive. It requires a studio, barres, mirrors and many, many shoes.  It is very common that a dancer finds him or herself injured from dancing in shoes that have already given out or that do not properly fit. This is why we have decided to start Pas de Promise. Pas de Promise has a goal of providing dance shoes to children in Los Angeles who cannot afford them. Pas de Promise allows people to donate shoes that address a specific dancer's needs.  Without dance shoes, dancers cannot unleash their full potential, leaving them without a creative outlet. That is why our mission is to provide shoes, to support children and teens throughout their adventures in dance.
